LED lighting retrofit at Lacroix & Kress, Neunburg

The Challenge

The production areas at Lacroix & Kress had been illuminated with outdated T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes, resulting in high energy costs, frequent maintenance, and insufficient efficiency for modern industrial lighting standards.
A solution was needed that was cost-effective, sustainable, and compatible with the existing lighting infrastructure.

The Solution – LED Retrofit with the GLT LED TUBE

A total of 2,500 old T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes were replaced with GLT LED TUBES “Made in Germany” in a 1:1 retrofit process according to IEC/EN 62776, carried out without structural modifications or production interruptions.

The existing luminaires and mounting systems were converted according to EN standards, and the old ballasts were removed. The LED driver is fully integrated into the GLT LED TUBE, allowing non-electrical personnel to easily replace the light source in the future.

Maintenance costs are reduced to an absolute minimum, supported by the exceptionally long service life of up to 130,000 hours. The new LED lighting meets all technical standards and legal requirements for quality, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Thanks to the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of the GLT TUBE, all environmental impacts of the lighting can be transparently measured and documented.
