Replacing fluorescent tubes with LED tubes at Kuhn Druck AG

The Challenge

The previous lighting system at Kuhn Druck AG caused high energy costs and increasing maintenance efforts. A modern lighting solution was needed that combined energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining consistently high light quality for printing machines and workstations.

The Solution

In the office and production areas of Kuhn Druck AG in Neuhausen, 140 T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes were replaced with GLT LED TUBES “Made in Germany” in a 1:1 retrofit process. The installation was carried out internally during ongoing operations – quickly, safely, and without interrupting production.

The existing luminaires and fixtures were retained and upgraded, while the old ballasts were bypassed. The ballast of the GLT LED TUBE is integrated directly into the tube – allowing future replacements to be carried out easily by staff without electrical expertise.

In addition to significantly reducing energy costs, the new lighting impressed with its uniform, flicker-free light quality, ensuring precise color rendering and consistent brightness at printing machines and workstations.
