LED lighting retrofit for Hines Germany in Hamburg

The Challenge

The existing fluorescent lighting in both office and outdoor areas caused high energy costs and frequent maintenance. At the same time, the lighting quality had to meet the modern standards of workplace comfort and reflect the representative character of a premium office property

The Solution – LED Retrofit with the GLT LED TUBE

Across a total office area of 40,200 m², including corridors, stairwells, and outdoor spaces, 408 outdated fluorescent tubes were replaced with modern GLT LED TUBES “Made in Germany” using a 1:1 retrofit process in accordance with IEC/EN 62776. The installation was carried out internally during ongoing operations.

The existing office and building infrastructure was retained and upgraded, while the old ballasts were bypassed. The ballast of the GLT LED TUBE is fully integrated into the tube – allowing future replacements to be performed easily by staff without electrical expertise.

In addition to significantly reducing energy costs, the new lighting provides uniform, flicker-free light quality, ensuring precise color rendering and consistent brightness throughout the office spaces and outdoor areas.

Thanks to the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), the environmental impact of the lighting can be transparently verified. The decision to work with German LED Tech was made deliberately, as the company’s core values – sustainability, efficiency, and uncompromising quality – perfectly align with the standards and requirements of Hines Germany.
