The municipality of Großbeeren takes responsibility

The municipality of Großbeeren, with 7,500 inhabitants in the Berlin area, acts particularly responsibly and has done everything right in times of high energy prices.

The representatives of the municipality recognised the signs of the times early on and invested in a green future. Since 2015, all lighting has been converted to energy-saving GLT TUBEs from German LED Tech. This saves Großbeeren approximately 1 million kWh of electricity annually, or 72% of its former energy and maintenance costs.

Whether the town hall, the Kitas Löwenzahn and Spatzen, the Ottfried-Preußler-Schule, the youth club, the community rooms of the village community Diedersdorf or the fire brigade - approx. 9,000 energy-efficient and sustainable GLT TUBEs are now replacing old, toxic fluorescent tubes. Großbeeren is thus making an important contribution to the success of the energy transition and climate protection. The lower expenditure means that money is available for other investments.

During the conversion, Großbeeren was closely supervised by German LED Tech, for example in the recording of the light sources or through continuous economic efficiency calculations. Comparable LED tubes were evaluated for each award. Time after time, it was GLT TUBES that came out on top thanks to their outstanding energy efficiency and longevity. The proof - since the start of the conversion 7 years ago, no failure has yet been recorded with the GLT TUBEs.

If every municipality and every company in Germany acted like Großbeeren and switched to modern LED lighting, we could reduce total electricity consumption in Germany by 9%.
