LED tubes "Made in EU" create energy independence
In 2021, Germany obtained 50% of its natural gas for electricity generation from Russia, which accounts for 5.25% of the total energy mix*. We could immediately save an unimaginable 9% of the total electricity consumption if we exchange all FL fluorescent tubes still used in Germany 1:1 for LED tubes**. Of course in LED tubes "Made in EU", because only then the eco-balance is right.
Ecology and efficiency from Germany
EnBW Baden-Württemberg AG wanted to know and commissioned the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP to compare fluorescent tubes from Germany with competitive products from outside the EU in the EF3.0 Climate Change impact category. The example is the reusable GLT TUBE 150 from German LED Tech GmbH. The result: compared to conventional fluorescent tubes, the GLT TUBE already has an advantage after 15 days, compared to comparable disposable LED tubes manufactured in Asia after 101 days. The energy efficiency and resource efficiency of the GLT TUBE is particularly emphasised. Now EnBW is converting its old fluorescent tubes to sustainable GLT TUBEs.
Put an end to environmental pollution
The solution is obvious, companies, the federal government, states and municipalities must now take responsibility. In the face of the tense political situation, the exploding energy prices and the growing environmental pollution. Because by 25 August 2023 at the latest, there will be an end to toxic substances in light bulbs anyway. These are subject to the EU Directive on the Restriction of Mercury and the Limitation of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, or RoHS Directive***. From this date on, old fluorescent tubes may no longer be placed on the market.
Preserving European independence
By quickly converting to energy-efficient and sustainable LED tubes produced in Europe, we are preserving our European independence and promoting peace in Europe by drastically reducing our energy needs. In addition, the recyclable reusable LED tubes make an important contribution to the environment by taking decisive action against irresponsible throwaway products.
