EPD - Environmental Product Declaration for the GLT TUBE

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

For more than ten years, it has been our mission to produce an unprecedented quality of energy-efficient, long-lasting and sustainable LED light sources. Our branded product, the GLT TUBE, was the first LED light source to be certified with the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU).

Verified sustainability for sustainable purchasers

The EPD is a transparent, independent environmental product declaration for a building product in accordance with international standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804. It specifies the ecological impact of the product over its entire life cycle and provides scientifically sound and independent data on all environmental impacts - from raw material extraction, production and use through to repair or recycling. It is checked by independent verifiers from the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) and made publicly available in the form of a data sheet

The EPDs are created on the basis of the results of the product life cycle assessment. This allows the user to view comparable, quantitative data on the ecological value chain of a product over its entire life cycle. International standardisation creates transparency and makes it easy to compare products.

The EPD is the basis for the ecological assessment of buildings in building certification systems such as the DGNB or BNB system, Leed, BREEAM, HQE.
